Why is LaView Camera not connecting to wifi?

There are several reasons why your LaView camera may not be able to connect to Wi-Fi, including connecting to the wrong Wi-Fi frequency, incorrect Wi-Fi credentials, distance from the router, and incorrect scanning of the QR code.

However, by following these troubleshooting tips, you should be able to establish a stable connection and start monitoring your home or office remotely.

1. Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi not 5GHz

One of the most common reasons for LaView not being able to connect to Wi-Fi is because it is attempting to connect to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network. LaView cameras only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks, so it is important to ensure you are connecting to the correct network.

You can check the frequency of your Wi-Fi network by checking the settings on your router or contacting your Internet Service Provider.

2. Ensure Wi-Fi password or SSID is correct

Another reason why LaView may not be able to connect to Wi-Fi is due to an incorrect Wi-Fi password or SSID. Double-check that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi credentials and ensure that they are case-sensitive. It is also important to ensure that your Wi-Fi network is not hidden, as LaView cameras require a visible SSID to connect.

3. Ensure the LaView camera is placed as close to the router as possible

The distance between the LaView camera and the router can also impact the connection. If the camera is too far away from the router, the signal may not be strong enough to establish a stable connection.

Try moving the camera closer to the router and see if this improves the connection.

4. Ensure the camera is scanning the QR code on the phone in the correct way

When connecting the LaView camera to Wi-Fi, it is important to ensure that the camera is scanning the QR code on the phone in the correct way. Hold the phone close to the camera and ensure that the QR code is in focus.

If the camera is still not connecting, try resetting the camera and attempt to connect again.

5. If the above does not work, try resetting the camera and connecting using ap mode

If you have tried all the above steps and are still unable to connect your LaView camera to Wi-Fi, try resetting the camera and connecting using ap mode.

Why is my LaView camera offline?

A LaView camera can go offline for a number of reasons, including router problems, password changes, memory card compatibility issues, low battery, and weak Wi-Fi signals. By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to reconnect your camera and start monitoring your site remotely. If the problem persists, contact LaView support for further assistance.

1. Check that the router is switched off or disconnected from the network.

If your LaView camera is offline, the first thing to check is whether the router is switched off or disconnected from the network. In such cases, it will take some time for the router to recover. Wait for two minutes and then check if your camera is online.

2. Check if the router has been replaced or if the Wi-Fi name or password has been changed.

Another reason why your LaView camera may be offline is that the router has been replaced or the Wi-Fi name or password has been changed. In this case, reset the camera and reconnect it to the new network.

3. Router overload due to prolonged heavy use

Sometimes the camera can go offline after a period of use. However, after rebooting the router or reconnecting the camera to the network, the camera returns to normal. This indicates that the router is overloaded due to prolonged heavy use and you need to replace it with a more powerful one or reduce the number of devices connected to the router.

4. Make sure the camera is switched on

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the most effective. Make sure the camera is switched on and working properly. If the camera’s battery is low or dead, it won’t be able to connect to the network.

5. Removing the memory card

If you have inserted a memory card in your LaView camera, remove it and check if the camera is online. Sometimes the camera cannot connect to the network due to a faulty or incompatible memory card.

6. Move the camera to a network environment with strong and stable signals

If your camera is still unable to connect to the network after trying the previous steps, place your camera in a network environment with strong and stable signals and try connecting to the network again. This may mean moving the camera closer to the router or using a Wi-Fi extender to improve signal strength.

Why is my laview camera not sending notifications?

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to receive notifications from your LaView camera and monitor your location remotely. If the problem persists, contact LaView Support for further assistance.

1. Ensure that the camera has detection turned on
To receive notifications, the camera must be set to detect motion or other events. In the LaView application, go to the camera settings and make sure that detection is turned on. You can also adjust the sensitivity and detection areas to ensure you receive the notifications you want.

2. Ensure the phone has a good network connection
If your phone is not connected to a network, you will not receive any notifications from the LaView camera. Make sure that your phone is connected to a good network and has a strong signal. You can check this by opening other applications that require an internet connection and see if they work correctly.

3. Make sure the camera is online
Finally, make sure that the LaView camera is online. If the camera is offline, it will not be able to send notifications to your mobile phone. In the LaView app, check the status of the camera and make sure it is online. If it is offline, try resetting the camera and reconnecting it to the network.

What do I do with camera that I can not connect to my 5G? Do I have to buy a new camera?
My internet provider switched me to 5G you used to work. Does this mean I can’t use this camera at all?

Where is the QR code to display on your phone for the camera to read? I keep reading that mention, but there’s no indication how to get a QR code to display on your phone.
